How Infosys Interviews in 2026: Process, Questions & What They Score
Compiled from 12 public sources: candidate interview reports, coaching guides, and Infosys's own hiring pages. Interview processes change and vary by role, team, level, and region. This is one well-documented shape of Infosys's interviews to prepare against, not a script of what your interview will be. Confirm specifics with your recruiter. SupaCV is not affiliated with or endorsed by Infosys.
Infosys is best known for high-volume technology and engineering services hiring in India, so this dossier covers that track: the entry-level engineering roles (Systems Engineer, Digital Specialist Engineer, Specialist Programmer, Power Programmer) plus lateral technology hiring into the same delivery organisation. Infosys BPM and Infosys Consulting are separate Infosys Group subsidiaries that run their own hiring processes, which the fetched sources do not describe and which this dossier does not cover. For freshers the process is normally three rounds: an online assessment, a technical interview, and an HR interview, with a managerial round added on some drives and for some roles. Experienced candidates typically see three to four rounds, sometimes two or more technical rounds before HR. Two optional entry routes sit in front of the standard funnel and change which role band you are considered for: the free InfyTQ certification, where 65 percent or more in the final round earns a direct job interview, and the HackWithInfy coding contest, whose top performers are interviewed for Power Programmer. Infosys does not publish an interview evaluation framework or competency rubric, so no framework is listed here. Infosys does publish corporate values (the C-LIFE set) on its own site, but those are published as company values rather than as an interview scoring model, and the infosys.com and infosysbpm.com pages could not be fetched, so they are deliberately excluded. Every stage and question below comes from third-party coaching sites and candidate write-ups, not from Infosys itself.
The Process
- 1
Application and resume screening · varies
Varies by route (campus drive, off-campus drive, InfyTQ, referral) and by when a drive is scheduled. Shortlisting is on academics and eligibility: typically 60 percent or 6.0 CGPA across Class 10, Class 12 and graduation, no active backlogs, and an eligible stream (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech, MCA, MSc in CS, IT, Mathematics or Statistics). No fetched source gives a duration for this stage.
- 2
Optional route: InfyTQ certification · Qualifier 60 minutes; Final round 3 hours
Free Infosys certification exam. The Qualifier is 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, webcam proctored, split into Java or Python (20), DBMS (10) and Aptitude (10), with plus 1 for a correct answer and minus 0.25 for a wrong one. The Final round is a three hour paper of 20 objective questions plus 2 coding problems covering programming, data structures, algorithms, DBMS and OOP, with no negative marking. Scoring 65 percent or above makes a candidate eligible for a direct Infosys job interview.
- 3
Optional route: HackWithInfy coding contest · varies
Varies by contest edition and candidate path; the two fetched sources describe different structures rather than one fixed sequence. The general contest-description page states Round 1 is three coding questions (easy to hard), after which the top 100 are invited to a live grand finale hackathon at an Infosys campus, and it does not mention any second online round. A separate first-hand candidate account describes a different path: a first online round of three easier questions, then a second, harder online round (including greedy and dynamic-programming problems) that leads straight into a technical interview, with no grand-finale hackathon step mentioned at all. Technical interviews assess online-test performance, resume, DSA and current technology knowledge. Results map to Power Programmer, Digital System Engineer or System Engineer Specialist offers rather than a single role.
- 4
Online assessment · 90 to 120 minutes; one source reports 100 minutes
The pattern varies by drive and role, and the two fetched sources disagree. Unstop reports a 100 minute, five section paper: Reasoning Ability 15 questions in 25 minutes, Mathematical Ability 10 in 35, Verbal Ability 20 in 20, Pseudocode 5 in 10, and Puzzle Solving 4 in 10, with no negative marking but sectional cutoffs. GeeksforGeeks reports a 90 to 120 minute paper that includes three coding problems alongside logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and verbal ability. The pseudocode section leans on C, C++ and data structures.
- 5
Technical interview · about 30 to 45 minutes per candidate reports
Covers data structures and algorithms, OOP, operating systems, DBMS and SQL, computer networks, coding and debugging, plus a deep dive into the final-year project or current work. For experienced candidates in critical roles this can become two or more technical rounds before HR. Candidate write-ups describe live coding over a call, for example implementing merge sort and a linked list problem, followed by project questions.
- 6
Managerial interview (only on some drives and roles) · varies
Not run for every drive. GeeksforGeeks lists it as conditional, placed after the technical interview, assessing leadership potential, team collaboration, decision making, project understanding and communication. No fetched source states a duration, and none states which business units or levels trigger it.
- 7
HR interview · about 20 to 30 minutes per candidate reports
Self-introduction and resume walkthrough, internship and project experience, strengths and weaknesses, career goals, relocation and shift flexibility, company-knowledge questions about Infosys itself, and situational or behavioural questions. Compensation and logistics are commonly discussed here.
- 8
Offer, background verification and onboarding · 2 to 4 weeks from first round to offer; verification a further 2 to 4 weeks
Candidate reports put two to four weeks between the first interview round and the offer. Background verification starts after the offer is accepted, is run by a third-party agency, and covers education certificates and mark sheets, employment history including relieving letters, salary slips and Form 16, identity and address, criminal record and references. It typically takes two to four weeks and runs longer for experienced candidates with several past employers. Candidates may be allowed to join once verification is initiated and initial checks clear, with employment conditional on full completion.

Coach's Tips
Treat the online assessment as five separate exams, not one. Unstop's reported pattern has sectional cutoffs and no negative marking, with very uneven time budgets: 15 reasoning questions in 25 minutes but only 10 minutes for 5 pseudocode questions and 10 minutes for 4 puzzles. Since nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, leave no question blank, and practise the puzzle and pseudocode sections against a clock because they are where the time runs out.
Practise reading code, not just writing it. The pseudocode section is built on C, C++ and data structures, and it asks you to trace what given code does. That is a different skill from solving a LeetCode problem, and candidates who only drill coding problems get caught by it.
Pick your entry route deliberately, because it decides your role band and pay. InfyTQ is free, and scoring 65 percent or above in its three hour final round earns a direct job interview. HackWithInfy funnels top performers toward Power Programmer, while a weaker showing routes you to Digital System Engineer or System Engineer Specialist instead; exactly how many rounds that takes varies by contest edition, so do not assume a fixed number of online rounds. The standard drive without either usually leads to Systems Engineer.
Rehearse your final-year project or current work as a technical deep dive, not a summary. The technical round runs about 30 to 45 minutes and explicitly covers project logic and implementation alongside DSA, OOP, DBMS, OS and networks. Be ready to justify why you built it that way and what you would change.
Actually study Infosys before the HR round. Fetched sources list factual company questions such as who is the current CEO of Infosys and when was Infosys founded, alongside the usual motivation questions. This is one of the few companies where a memorised fact about the employer is directly asked.
Get your paperwork ready before the offer, not after. Background verification starts once you accept, is run by a third-party agency, and takes roughly two to four weeks, longer if you have several past employers. It checks degree certificates and mark sheets, relieving letters, salary slips and Form 16, identity, address, criminal record and references. Missing a relieving letter is the common cause of delay.
