01 / For every TD Bank candidate
The process, start to finish.
TD Bank Group (The Toronto-Dominion Bank) hires across retail banking, wealth, insurance, technology and TD Securities. This playbook covers the track TD is best known for: retail and branch banking (tellers, customer service representatives, personal bankers and branch staff at TD Canada Trust and TD Bank in the US). TD's careers site describes a three-step public process: explore job postings, apply through a candidate account, then interview, which may be in person or virtual.
TD's careers FAQ adds that only candidates of interest are contacted to schedule an interview, and that it is typical for candidates to be interviewed at least twice before a hiring decision is made. TD does not publish an interview scoring rubric or a stage-by-stage format. It does publish a values and leadership framework, The TD Way, on both its Canadian and US About pages.
TD's interview tips tell candidates to learn about who TD is, its purpose and its shared commitments, so The TD Way is included here as the closest public reference. TD's tips do not name it, so it should not be read as a confirmed scoring rubric. For early-talent hiring, TD publishes application windows by region (for example, Canadian summer co-op applications open in January) and says full-time US Analyst offers are based on completing the summer internship.
The public evidence is thin. Glassdoor, Indeed, Wall Street Oasis and Comparably are not drawn on here. The one candidate-report page used, AmbitionBox, is a small sample of 29 interview experiences that mostly covers technology, analytics, compliance and customer-service roles, so it says little about branch hiring. All sample questions except one come from a single practice-question site (MockQuestions), which credits its set to an author and attributes no question to candidates. The remaining item is a preparation prompt from TD's own interview tips.
Stage 1: Explore opportunities and review the job posting
varies
TD says its job postings set out the team, key responsibilities and qualifications, and advises tailoring your resume to the posting. Timing is set by the candidate.
Stage 2: Apply through a TD Careers (Candidate Home) account
varies
You need an account before you can apply to any role; TD's FAQ calls it a Candidate Home account. On submitting you see a confirmation screen, and a submitted application cannot be edited. TD says it contacts directly only the candidates of interest to schedule an interview and tries to email outcomes to all applicants. Time from application to first contact is not published and varies with role and application volume. For early-talent roles, TD publishes application windows that vary by region and term: in Canada, January for summer, May for fall and September for winter co-op terms, and spring a year ahead for the TD Securities Analyst program; for US summer internships, the fall of junior year; in Singapore, September or February. No timing is published for branch and contact-centre hiring.
Stage 3: Interview (in person or virtual)
varies
TD describes the interview as a chance to learn your background and for you to get to know the team and culture. You may be asked to interview in person, and TD also gives tips for virtual interviews. TD's FAQ says it is typical for candidates to be interviewed at least twice before a hiring decision is made. The interviewers, formats and length are not published and likely vary by role, line of business and region. The only candidate reports used here (AmbitionBox, a small sample that mostly covers non-branch roles) are mixed: one customer service report describes a single round and one financial advisor report describes two. The page also shows a process duration split across its 29 reports of 53 percent at 2 to 4 weeks, 41 percent under 2 weeks and 6 percent over 8 weeks, without defining where the clock starts. Treat those figures as weak evidence for branch roles.
Stage 4: Full-time Analyst offer after summer internship
variesUS early talent only
Applies only to the US Analyst and TD Securities Analyst/Associate programs, not to branch hiring. TD says offers for its full-time US Analyst programs are based on completing the summer internship (June to August), and classes start in July. TD Securities says its Analyst/Associate classes are primarily past summer interns, with recruiting beginning in the fall of senior year if it has full-time availability. TD also says additional seats may open from time to time, with recruiting through the year as needed. Timing varies by business and by seat availability.

Item names and the count of ten match TD's Canadian Who we are page (https://www.td.com/ca/en/about-td/who-we-are) and the identical list on TD's US About Us page (https://www.td.com/us/en/about-us). The Canadian page describes The TD Way as one shared framework that unites TD's ambition, values and leadership principles. The first five items are listed under "Who we are" and the last five under "How we lead".
The same block also states a Purpose ("Reimagine what banking can be for our clients, colleagues and communities") and a Promise ("Remarkably human. Refreshingly simple."), which are not listed as items. TD does not publish this as an interview rubric and does not link it to interviewing.

Its careers interview tips only say to learn about who we are, our purpose and shared commitments, a heading that echoes the Who we are and Purpose labels, and the next tip asks how you would contribute to the vision "Be the Better Bank". That vision does not appear on either About page. TD does not say whether the vision was retired or whether the tip's "shared commitments" means The TD Way.
