Items come from news reports and company statements. SupaCV writes each summary and links the source. Reports can be wrong or change, so check the source before you act on one.

How we collect this

The first items were picked by hand from news reports in early November 2026. From then on, a scheduled job regularly searches the news through OpenChase for layoffs, hiring plans and funding rounds and adds new ones: an AI model sorts each headline, places it on the map and writes the one-line summary in our own words. We keep a link to every source we used, and never copy an article or its images.

Macro reports, opinion pieces, sports news and social media posts are left out, and so is any story about a private individual, and so are government programmes that fund jobs at other employers. Items with unusually large or unconfirmed numbers are marked for review. An item whose only sources repeat or total other reports is labelled Low confidence until a more reliable source backs it. Seasonal hiring counts as hiring and is labelled Seasonal. A cut planned over several years is left out of the job cuts total and shown under it.

A place is where the change happens when the report says so, and otherwise the country. Funding amounts in other currencies are shown as reported, and totals use approximate US dollar values.
